The Manoa valley

The school i'm currently attending is called the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (UH). Because there are a few such branches around the 7-8 islands of hawaii, the Us are named together with their locations to distinguish them from one another.

Anyways Manoa refers to the valley that UH is located in. Hmmm, we had remote sensing class on the top of one of the buildings today. Used GPS sensors and did some field exercises. The top floor had a good view of the ridges of the mountains that flank the valley.-Not really a good image, but it's the best i could do. Anyways there are actually 3 mountain ridges, one on the left, one in the center and one on the right. UH lies on the valley floor.-

- the course lecturer's the guy with the shades, Scott. Real awesome dude...to the point where i feel bad if i were to hand in lousy work... -

And.. because UH is located in a valley, it is imperative that one carries an umbrella with him/her all the time. Showers are very very very very very frequent. Winds are very strong as well (yes, guoyuan i know this will never beat the one in london). But in any case, my umbrella cannot tahan and the 'spokes' or whatever you call it started to break, one by one...
