Nepalese New Year 2065 @ Campus Center Ballroom

The Society of Nepalese in Hawaii (SNEHA) organized a new year celebration in school today. Decided to go coz I had nothing to do on Saturday (apart from hmk, that is). Apart from some technical hiccups during and in between the performances, i must say it was a an enjoyable event. It was nice to see Indian ladies in saris and the men in their traditional clothes, as well as taste to authentic Indian fare.

There was plenty of singing and dancing...

the ang moh is a nursing professor from UH who spent 3 months in Nepal to share with them nursing practices of the west. Anyhow his segment was interesting coz he had 2 volunteers dress up in the daily wear for the ladies in Nepal.

The doughnut is called 'selroti' ...sweet and oily but nice. haha. And on the right is the potato salad you normally find in masala thosai. And they had nuts and chips and to top it off there was plenty of drinks like diet coke, pepsi, juice, fruit punch.

oh and the girls decided to play dress up after the makan session.

hohoho.
